Emjedrah (rice and lentils)

Goes with the spanech. Yummy.

What you need:

Half a cup of lentils
1 cup of rice
salt
an onion

What you need to do:

Put the lentils into a pot with like 3/4 a cup of water, and boil it on hot until its boiling, then make the heat lower. the water and the lentils meet.

2) Add the rice, right on top of the lentils, with 1 and a half cups of water. Add in ALOT of salt, because u want the rice to absorb it. Do the same thing, boiling it until the water is less then the rice, and then take it off the heat

3) Meanwhile, Slice your onion into half moons and cook them in a frying pan with some oil, until they get transparent and brown.

4) Put the onions AND THE OIL onto the rice and lentils, and mix it up

5) Cover the pot and bake it on 350 for about 20 minutes.

6) enjoy it with sour cream!!
